The story behind our own Charlene Stopforth

South Africa representing globally

Recently our very own Charlene Stopforth who works at the farm took members of the Harrismith and Bethlehem JKA Karate dojos to Japan to compete in the Funakoshi Gichin Cup, 16th Karate World Champs. Charlene herself is a 5th Dan black belt sensei and has helped produce Protea and National level athletes (karate-ka). Athletes travel internationally with Bohlokwa Khitsane having just returned recently from Italy winning a bronze medal.

Harrismith and Bethlehem dojos are affiliated to SA JKA (South African Japan Karate Association) as well as KSA (Karate South Africa) – KSA is then affiliated to SASCOC and WKF (World Karate Federation).

Charlene we are very proud of you, the work you put in, as well as for returning from Japan with a bronze medal yourself!
